WHAT IS DEBATE

Debate is a formal contest of argumentation between two teams or individuals. Every debate has a topic, or "resolution" with each team either arguing for or against the resolution. ​Debaters research and prepare a case, anticipating their opponents' arguments and preparing for potential responses. A judge listens to the debate and votes for the side with the strongest arguments and refutations.

At BL, debate is a competitive, elite extra-curricular activity for the brightest students. In the United States, over 130,000 students every year compete under the National Speech & Debate Association including prestigious tournaments like Stanford, Harvard, Yale, and many others.

辩论在一般意义上来讲是由两方团队或个人之间，分为正反双方，站在对立的角度，就同一辩题进行论证博弈的正规比赛。

 

辩手要研究和准备案例，目的是为了阐明论点从而反驳对方辩手。评委会听取辩论并投票给拥有最强的论据辩驳的一方辩手。

Numerous studies show that debaters have much better critical thinking skills as they learn how to create logical, sound arguments related to some of the most complex current issues. As opposed to traditional learning of memorizing facts, students actively engage with topics from multiple perspectives.

By debating complex current issues, students learn how to become more efficient in locating, analyzing, and synthesizing a vast amount of information in a short amount of time.

Debaters perform better on all sections of the ACT than non-debaters. As well, the average debater is generally in the top 10%  of their class, with an average debate team having a GPA of 3.75. 98.58% of debate students go to college, with some studies showing debate experience can increase chances of admission by almost 60% (without even having to win major awards).

The BL Education Debate program is an elite debate program for students to compete at some of the most prestigious U.S. middle and high school tournaments (including Nationals, Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Berkeley, and so on). Our mission is to help students realize and push their intellectual capabilities and curiosities. 

​

We create an engaging classroom environment where students can comfortably learn. Our curriculums have been developed specifically for the U.S. debate styles by top debate coaches. At the end of the day, we want to set students up to be successful leaders in the real world. That is why we have created the best program in order to allow students to hone and develop new skills that are necessary to succeed in life.

博宇教育辩论项目是一个精英项目，让学生参与一些最负盛名的美国初中和高中的比赛（包括美国国际比赛，哈佛，斯坦福，耶鲁，伯克利等）。我们的使命是帮助学生认识和推动他们的智力能力和好奇心。
